Another valued member of our Team are the Osteopaths over at Oesteopata del mar.

They mainly focus on restoring lost movement in the body; whether in the ROM of a limb, or fluids, muscle tissue, viscera, etc, by unblocking any blockages, draining /moving lymph, decreasing inflammation, and restoring/improving the functioning of the systems (improve diaphragm excursion, breathing techniques, improve lymph flow, improve circulation, relax muscle contracture, restore movement through passive articulation.

The lead member of their team is Kathryn McConkey D.O. M.R.O.E

They also offer Physiotherapy services in-house, with Sara who speaks English.

The treatment approach is through a cranial approach, accessing CNS, biomechanical, neurological, respiratory-circulatory, metabolic, and behavioral. Techniques chosen, depend on the person’s age and health (and preference) but include HVT (high-velocity thrust), the “cracking” sound of joint cavitation, deep and soft tissue massage, passive mobilization of all joints, lymphatic drainage, cranial, functional/facial treatment.

They do not treat infections or diseases, and rehab patients are attended by both the osteopath and physiotherapist in the clinic.
When a person shows no, or minimal improvement they are referred to a specialist for a different treatment approach or tests/images to confirm/discard diagnosis, and/or if the clinical picture is not clear.
