Sexual health tests

The consequences of ignoring sexually transmitted diseases can be severe, sometimes even life-threatening.

Here are a few reasons why sexually active individuals should get regularly tested for STDs:

  1. STDs often have no symptoms or the symptoms can be mistaken for something else. You may feel fine and have no idea that you;re carrying a potentially harmful disease. This is especially true for chlamydia, gonorrhoea, and human papillomavirus (HPV), which can all be present with no outward signs.
  2. Untreated STDs can lead to serious health problems, including infertility, pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), and cancer. In addition, some STDs can also increase your risk of contracting other infections, such as HIV.
  3. Getting tested regularly can help you catch STDs early, before they do too much damage. Treatment is much more effective when the disease is caught early on, so don't hesitate to get tested.
  4. If you’re sexually active, you have a responsibility to protect yourself and your partner(s) from the risks associated with STDs. Getting tested regularly is a key part of that responsibility.

It’s important to remember that even if you feel fine, you may still be carrying a disease. So don;t take chances with your health – get tested today.

We offer a number of non-invasive STD tests that require only a urine test or vaginal mucous (self-swab) sample. Certain of the STD tests will require a blood test.

DualSeven sexual health test: This is the most comprehensive test. Urine test for 7 of the most common sexual health infections namely:

  • Chlamydia
  • Gonorrhoea
  • Trichomoniasis
  • Mycoplasma Genitalium
  • Mycoplasma Hominis
  • Ureaplasma Urealyticum

Pap smear: All females should have an annual PAP smear which is useful for finding cancerous cells, and other cervical and vaginal problems such as precancerous cells and inflammation.
Urine tract infections: Urine tests are performed to screen for a range of conditions such as urinary tract infections, diabetes, kidney disorders, and liver problems.
Hormone profiles: Hormones are formed in the endocrine system and control most major bodily functions. A hormone imbalance could cause issues with bodily growth, sexual development, metabolism, and other bodily functions. It is a simple blood test to check for any imbalance.

When a hormone level is lower or higher than it should be, it can have a severe impact on your health.
